Meet the Chiropractors

Dr. Jen Aliment

Dr. Jen has been passionate about helping people with chiropractic care since a young age.   When she was 9 years old her mother took her to a chiropractor because she was a competitive gymnast and was complaining of some random aches and pains due to her training.  Through regular adjustments not only did she notice an increase in her athletic performance but she also noticed a dramatic decrease in her asthma symptoms that had been bothering her for years.  She had been on 3 inhalers and steroids when she started chiropractic care but after 6 months was able to stop using all of her medications.  After seeing how chiropractic changed her life it made her want to help others the same way she had been helped.

She grew up in a small suburb outside of Detroit, Michigan. She was so excited to start her life in helping others that she worked in a chiropractic office during high school and even college. Upon graduating from high school she attended the University of Michigan (Go Wolverines!) for her undergraduate degree where she studied Movement Science.

Dr. Jen was so eager to start chiropractic school that she left Michigan a year early so she could get a head start on her doctorate.  She moved to Marietta, GA to attend Life University where she got to finish her undergrad degree and work on her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree at the same time. Much to her surprise, a degree isn’t the only thing she got during her time at Life that is where she met Dr. Chris who was also studying to become a chiropractor.

Following graduating from chiropractic school, Dr. Jen and Dr. Chris moved back home to Michigan where they practiced for about 2 years. Then they relocated to the Northwest in October of 2010 after they were married. They both had been working as associate doctors in Washington up until opening 180 Degrees Chiropractic in November of 2011.

Dr. Jen discovered, after helping her sister and sister-in-law through their pregnancies, her passion for helping moms-to-be during their pregnancies. She knows that chiropractic treatment can help ease pregnancy pains in addition to decreasing labor times. Dr. Jen is Auntie Jen to two adorable nephews whom she adores. Through aunt-hood she was able to realize her love of working with children. Dr. Jen knows from personal experience how chiropractic can benefit children with everything from improving athletic performances to increasing concentration in school.

When Dr. Jen isn’t playing auntie to her two nephews she can be found hiking and exploring what the Northwest has to offer (if you have any suggestions on what is a must see let her know!). She also loves to travel and enjoys watching any Detroit sporting event.

Dr. Chris Aliment

Dr. Chris is a native to Seattle area and has been under chiropractic care since he was a teenager. He realized at a young age that he had a great passion for helping individuals but, knew the current medical model was not the answer. While wrestling and playing soccer in high school he became conscious that he was starting to have complaints of pain which he never had before but, he didn’t know how to correct the problem without drugs.  Through an internship program in high school Dr. Chris was able to shadow a local chiropractor who explained how vertebral subluxations could affect your central nervous system and affect your overall health. With the correction of the vertebral subluxations Dr. Chris’ complaints of pain decreased and he noticed his energy level increased, his flexibility improved as well as his overall health improved.

Following graduation from high school he knew he wanted to pursue a career in chiropractic and moved to Marietta, Georgia to start his undergraduate degree at Life University. With completion of the required pre-requisites he entered the Doctor of Chiropractic program where he met his wife Dr. Jen. In addition to meeting his wife he learned that chiropractic was much more than just having neck pain, back pain or headaches. Dr. Chris learned that chiropractic was a lifestyle which includes nutrition and exercise. He believes with having the proper nutrition and exercise as well as making sure your central nervous system is functioning properly through chiropractic care you will live a healthier life.

With the Completion of the Doctor of Chiropractic program from Life University in June of 2009 Dr. Chris has been enjoying working with patients of all ages. He has found much joy working with lots of children and looks forward to getting his certification from the international chiropractic pediatric association. Dr. Chris enjoys spending his time outside the office hiking, camping, backpacking, playing soccer and traveling.
